3D Imaging and Oral Surgery:
The Technology of the Future, in use in Our Office, Today.
Our practice is a recognized leader in the use of 3D digital imaging in oral/maxillofacial surgery and dentistry.
Our office is equipped with the Galileos Cone Beam CT Scanner,
which allows us to obtain 3-Dimensional X-Ray images of your jaws and facial structures.

This State-Of-The-Art System allows our doctors to evaluate and diagnose your condition in ways that are not possible with traditional 2-Dimensional methods, all without ever leaving our office.
Cone Beam 3-Dimensional imaging has advanced the art and science of tooth replacement with dental implants. Your implant treatment is planned using an accurate 3D image of your jaw bone on our computers. This plan is then used to make a guide which controls precision placement of the implants, using minimally-invasive surgical techniques. This allows a quicker, easier recovery for our patients. 3D imaging makes tooth replacement with dental implants more successful and minimizes complications. It also simplifies your dentist's job of making the final prosthesis, because the implants are placed in the most ideal positions.

We know that our patients have busy lives. The scan takes less than 15 seconds, and in most cases, we are able to review the findings immediately afterward, saving you from inconvenient additional appointments, and allowing you to begin your treatment sooner.
Our expertise extends beyond just dental implants. 3D imaging is also used to evaluate impacted teeth, cysts and tumors of the jaws, as well as facial injuries, and make an earlier diagnosis of failing teeth. This technology facilitates more rapid and accurate diagnosis, so that we can treat your problem more efficiently and minimize recovery time.
We are concerned about protecting the health of our patients. The Galileos cone beam CT system offers one of the most accurate images, with the lowest dose of radiation and one of the quickest scan times of any similar system in use today. The amount of radiation is less than that of a standard full-mouth dental x-ray series, and a fraction of the radiation from a medical CT scanner. Because the scan is all digital, we are able to easily share the information we obtain with your dentist and other health care providers.
At your consultation appointment, our doctors will determine whether a 3D cone beam CT scan is appropriate for your case. If so, it may be done at your first visit. If you are seeing us regarding dental implants, it may be necessary to first make a special "scanning template" to image the locations where teeth need to be replaced. This will be discussed with you at your appointment.
In some instances, we may be able to bill the cost of the cone beam CT scan to your dental or medical insurance. Please provide us with the information necessary to complete your insurance paperwork.
We will be happy to provide your treating dentist or other health care provider with a copy of your Galileos Cone Beam CT scan on a CD-ROM. Please have their office information available so we may send it to them.
